App Miner Review

What is App Miner?

App Miner is one of those apps created that tells you of other apps that are on sale. For the most part, it's a reliable app that, if used right, will save you money. Plus it's free.

When you start up App Miner, you will come across the home screen, which consists of 5 options to choose from, "New", "Sale", "Top Rated", "Search", and "Watch". I'll just be going through the first three categories in depth.

NEW- When you select the "NEW" option, you will be given a list of several different categories ranging from "Books", to "Games", to "Music", and so on. What this section will do is supply you with all of the new apps created within the last couple of days, for each category you choose. It will also give you the price of the app, and link you to each app's store on iTunes. This section comes in handy if you are searching for an app that just hit the "shelves".

SALE-
This option is exactly like the NEW option in terms of categories and how this section works. The only difference is, instead of supplying you with new apps, it will supply you with apps that have recently gone on sale, and also provide you with it's original price and it's marked down price.

TOP RATED- The Top Rated category is simple as well; it gives you the categorizes list once again, and provides you with the top rated apps in each category, also letting you know the price of the app and linking you to their store.

The SEARCH option is self explanatory. The WATCH option is a pretty neat tool. You are able to add apps to the list, and when ever one app goes on sale, it will let you know. Good way to save money on an app that you wanting to get, but for a lower price.

All in all, App Miner is a good little tool to have around, especially if you're big on finding the best deals. Most of the time, the popular apps are not on sale, but every now and then you will come across one that you may have heard of before.

The Positives of App Miner
Free App
Easy to Use
Takes up Little Space
Helps you Save Money
Little to No Bug Issues
Price Watches

The Negatives of App Miner
Unless added without my knowledge, one thing this app desperately needs is the option to have "push notifications", something that would alert you when one of your saved items has gone on sale.
Loads rather slowly

What I rate App Miner (1-10/10)

I would rate App Miner 8/10

Would I recommend App Miner to others
Sure, why not. It's a free app anyways, plus it will most likely save you a buck or two if you use it in the long run.

Real Racing Review

Ah, Real Racing, one of my all-time favorite games. This was one of the first games I came upon and bought in the App store and it's still just as fun as it was then. So let's get on into the review..

What is Real Racing?

Real Racing is a racing game made for the iPod Touch or iPhone. It comes with close to 50 (YES 50!) cars to choose from, more than 10 detailed tracks in various locations, and plenty of other cool features, such as a multiplayer mode and a career mode, where you take part in championships to rise to the top.

When first loading Real Racing, you would think you were playing a game on the Xbox 360 or PS3; it looks that detailed! The home page consists of different options to choose from, such as the "showroom", competing in a "quick race", or a "time trial", or starting on your "career" mode. The home page is laid out very nice and simple, and has music playing in the background.

For this review, we will be competing in a "quick race", which is what I recommend each gamer try out first, so you can get the best sense for this game. You will be given a track to race on, and then YOU have the power to choose how many laps you would like to race, whether you would like opponents or not, and then your vehicle choice.

The next screen takes you right to the race, as you await the green lights to trigger the start of the race. As with other games, you steer your car by tilting (or you can choose to use "touch" mode) the iPod/iPhone. The second you begin your race, you will feel the excitement of the racecourse, and see the vast detail the track has to offer. The controls of the car and the detail of the car itself are just as great. You also have different camera options to choose from when competing a race. Your opponents also act realistically and provide a welcome challenge.

After you've tried a quick race out, don't forget to try out the other features, such as a "time trial" and I definitely recommend getting into the career mode part of the game. This game will provide never ending fun for those that enjoy racing.

Now that you know the basics of this game, let's move on to the positives and negatives.

The positives of Real Racing
A realistic style racing game
Easy to learn controls and home menu
40+ cars to choose from
10+ tracks
Multiplayer
Career Mode and Quick Race Mode
Many selections of in-game music
No bugs or crashes
Low Price ($4.99)

The Negatives of Real Racing
A rather large file; will take some time to download. If you are running low on space, I would be careful before downloading this game
This game is NOT free, but is well worth the money if you are into racing games. If you want to try this game out, but not spend this much money, they have also generously created a free version that is just as impressive as the paid (but comes with less selection of tracks, cars)

What I rate Real Racing (1-10/10)
My rating for Real Racing would be a solid 9/10.

Would I recommended this game to others?
Definitely, especially to those of us that enjoy racing-based games.

THANKS for viewing this review of Real Racing. If you have any comments, positive or negative, make sure to leave a comment! Stick around for the next review tomorrow!
